My connection is having major problems. I thought, at first, that it was the wireless that was dropping. The study does tend to get a little interference so I just assumed that's what it was.

However, I realized that my cable modem itself has been dropping. Cox is coming on Tuesday. They said they do see "abnormal levels" coming over my line.

I've tried taking off the splitter that goes to the TV and it is still dropping connection every 2-3 minutes. It's a pain in the ass.

So, I'm around, just frustrating as all hell to get online.

sounds like someone's either tapped you at the line, or there's something wrong at the tap on the pole/underground interface.

find your cable entry box, and backwalk it looking for odd things. Especially moisture. Make sure there are rubber booties on each of the interface taps.

Nah, I'm pretty sure it has something to do with the filter in the attic. The cable modem was originally in the other room. When we moved it in here, it didn't work. So we had to have Cox come out and re-filter it. Apparently, they don't normally filter it at all, but for some reason, the splitter in the attic required a filter. *shrug*

So we aren't terribly surprised that it's having some issues.

Also, the modem is damn near 5 years old. I figure there's probably something to do with that, too.
